Verse 1
Arabic,
Celtic, and
Baroque all at the same time.
If you wanted to know more about truth than you wanted to
breathe the air or than you wanted to live life itself.

He seeked out the different gurus and teachers of the east an d he studied with

them and he learned the different meditation techniques and the different yogas.
So he was going to go up on the mountain and he was going to meditate and
G

he would not come down from that mountain until he found truth for himself.
Or until he died, whichever came first.

And true to his word, he went up on that mountain,

and he found the loneliest spot that he could find.
And he closed his eyes,
and he began to meditate.
Nobody knows how long he sat there,
meditating.
But he was suddenly awoken by a sound,
a rustling behind him.
And he opened his eyes, and he turned around,
and here was an old woman.
And she was old.
Her face was as old as the rocks.
And she was bent over from
her years.
And she could barely walk because
she was missing one leg.
And she had no teeth.
But he looked into her eyes
and her eyes shined.
And his eyes shined back and
they recognized each other.
And he knew that this was truth itself.
He had found truth.
This woman was what he had
been looking for all his life.
Oh, truth, please take me with
you and let me learn at your feet.
He begged her, and she said, yes, I will.
You come with me and I will teach
you all that I know.
And he went back with her to
her cave where she lived.
And he did.
He sat at her feet, and he kept her company, and he listened to her every word,
and he learned all that she had to tell him.
And the day came when he finally knew
that he understood what truth was.
And they looked at each other, and almost without speaking a word,
he knew that now it was time for him to go back into the world and tell people what he had learned.
He turned to leave,
and he looked at the old woman, and he said,
Please, truth, my teacher,
what shall I tell the people about you?
How would you like them to
know of you?
How would you like to be remembered?
And she looked at him, and she said,
Tell them that I'm young, that I'm beautiful,

and that I'm a great dancer.
