Verse 1
(C major) Once upon a time, on a sunny day,
in a royal castle far away,
(B flat major) a naughty (C major) prin (D major) cess, she did scream.
Yucky yuck!
Strawberry ice cream!
This girl was called
Princess
Ping.
She didn't seem to like anything.
But most of all, she hated her toys,
none of them seemed to bring her joy
The (C major) palace butler (D major) gave her a dolly,
dressed in pink lace, named
Miss
Lolly
I don't like dolls! shouted
Princess
Ping
She cried and threw away the (E minor) thing
The palace maid said,
(D major) There, there,
here's a lovely fluffy teddy (E minor) bear
(D major) I don't like bears, howled
Princess
(E minor) Ping
I (D major) don't want to cuddle anything (E minor)
The (D major) palace guard said
I know what you'll like!
He gave her (C major) the coolest, (D major) flashiest bike (C major)
(D major) I don't (A minor) like bikes! cried
Princess
(D major) Ping
She (C major) kicked the (D major) bike in (E minor) front of the (A minor) king
(C major) The (D major) poor king didn't know (C major) what to do (G major)
(G minor) He (G major) wanted the princess (D major) to smile too
So he called a meeting at the court
said.
Where can the best toys be bought?
At the wonderful toy maker's shop,
they said.
Everyone agreed and
nodded their heads.
He makes magic toys,
but lives far away.
Magic toys! cried the princess.
Let's go today!
Seeing her so excited, (C major)
cheered (D major) up the king.
He said,
Very well then,
Princess
Ping.
They set off on their (F major) long, long journey,
over hills and roads that
were twisty (C major) and turny.
(F major) After going over moun
(C major) tains high and low,
through (F major) the (C major) moaning wind
and the falling snow.
(D minor) They reached (C major) the wonderful
toy (D major) maker's shop.
(F major) Outside its sparkling
windows they stopped.
In the window (C major) was a (D major) magic display,
where tiny tin horses
(C major) stamped and (D major) neighed.
Magic balls glittered (C major) and bounced about.
(D major) A (C major) real mini aero (E major) plane swooped in (E minor) and out.
(C major) Goodness,
this looks like the place! said the king.
(A minor) Magic (A major) toys! (D major) cried the princess.
(F major) Let's go in!
(D major) Then the door of the (C major) shop opened
with a big bang!
Welcome, your
(D major) Highnesses, said a friendly (C major) old man.
I'm the
Toymaker, he said.
Have you come far?
I make the most special toys
that there are.
Princess
Ping, I see you need some fun.
You (F major) may choose one toy, but only (C major) one.
Inside the shop,
the princess gaped.
There were toys in so many
(G major) different shapes.
(C major) Fast as (G major) lightning model cars and
(C major) spinning tops as bright as (G major) stars.
(E flat major) I don't (G major) know what to (D major) choose, (G major) said
(F major) Ping.
It (C major) seemed the toy shop had everything.
(D major) Musical instruments played
and shone.
There was (G major) even a magic microphone.
The (D major) toys were so sparkly and so, (C major) so bright.
(E flat major) But something dusty came (D major) into (G major) sight.
(E flat major) A (C major) wooden box of paints in all colours.
Was it these she'd come all this
way (C major) to discover?
These are special paints,
(C major) the (E minor) toy maker said.
You can paint whatever pops
(G major) into your (D major) head.
And whatever you paint, (E minor) well,
(C major) it comes to life.
(A minor) Princess
Pink stared (C major) with won (D major) drous eye (A minor) s.
I (C major) can paint (C major) whatever I imagine, she said.
I'll never be bored then!
This toy is the best!
So she'd (E flat major) paint with her paintbrush
(C major) and draw with (C major) her pen.
And she was never ever (E flat major) bored again.
