Verse 1
(C major) The Magic Snowman (G major)
(A minor) Once upon a (G major) time in a (C major) town square,
snow was (G major) falling here and
(A minor) there.
Happy children (C major) made a snowman
(G major) an d back to their cozy homes they (F major) ran.
(G major) Then golden snowflakes (C major) started to fall
onto a (G major) snowman so (C major) big and tall.
Poof!
(G major) He suddenly glowed so bright.
A magic snowman came to life.
It must be Christ (C major) mas,
said the snowman.
Of Christmas Day he was the biggest fan.
He went to look about the town,
(D minor) to find the Christmas fun (G major) around.
He (F major) peeped in through (G major) cosy windows,
with Christmas trees covered with (D minor) bows,
where grown -ups (G major) and children and cats
near crackling warm fireplaces sat.
Oh, (C major) I can't go inside
(G major) or I'll melt,"
(C major) said the snowman,
and (G major) sad he felt.
(D minor) Everyone was snug and smiling (G major) too.
The (C major) poor snowman even sadder
grew.
Suddenly he had a smashing plan.
I need (F major) to find another (C major) snowman
to spend Christmas Day with, he said.
(G major) So to the cold North Pole he sped.
(C major) Overseas and over cit (F major) ies he flew,
over (C major) high snowy mountains too,
until he (G major) reached where
Santa was.
He would ask kind Santa Claus.
Soon (C major) he spied Santa's house
in the (G major) snow.
(F major) It was a tiny (C major) wooden cottage,
(G major) as you know.
The snowman knocked (C major) rat
-a -tat -tat.
Santa opened (G major) the door in his (C major) red hat.
Hel (G major) lo sir, (C major) I've been expecting you,
(G major) Old Santa said,
(C major) and Ho Ho'd too.
(G major) Oh, I (C major) was just wondering,
the snowman said,
Indeed my (C minor) good fellow, (C major)
(G major) Santa nodded his head.
Santa al (F major) ways knows
a Christmas wish. (G major)
(A minor) He raised his hands an
(D minor) d the snow went swish.
(G major) An (C major) other snowman jumped
(G major) out of the snow.
(E flat major) Hello! (G major) He smiled with a (C major) golden glow.
(G major) Hel (A minor) lo my (G major) friend,
the first magic (C major) snowman (G major) said.
(C major) Merry Christmas to you (G major) both,
(C major) said Santa on his sled.
(G major) He cracked the reins
and up (C major) his reindeer flew.
They had a lot of (G major) gift delivering to do.
Said Snowman 1 to Snowman 2,
let's (C major) go home.
(G major) So (C major) off they flew,
(A minor) until (D minor) they could see the town square,
(G major) where light sparkled here and there.
The (C major) two snowmen landed
with a (D minor) swoosh,
right back in the (C major) town with
a whoosh.
They looked around at the Christmas lights,
and the big tree that shone
so bright.
Suddenly, townspeople all (F major) appeared,
carrying big (C major) gifts and (A minor) full of cheer.
Mr (G major) an d Mr (D minor) Snowman,
(G major) they all did say,
what are you doing for Christmas Day?
(C major) Shall we spend it all together,
the snow (D minor) men said.
(G major) The townspeople (C major) cheered and
danced (C major) ahead.
They brought outside all
their (C major) Christmas meals,
(D minor) big (G major) roast turkeys
and (F major) cakes on wheels.
The (A minor) mayor (G major) of the town (A minor) said after they ate,
(D minor) Would you like to help (G major) us decorate?
They put the star atop the
big green tree.
It was the most magical Christmas
that they ever did see.
