A ten years old and tough as s Nils
I'd ride my huffy down these trails
Sometimes I'd ride for the sport
Sometimes I'd ride for the fun
But mostly I would ride my bike
Taking all that damage done
Saying I won't go back until
for some better things to come
There's no question in my mind
My mo m and dad both love their son
I wish that I could trade that love
The wounds they left are here to stay
They thought I was safe from harm,
But I ride my bike as far as it would go,
taking all that damage I've done
And I won't go back until
I know that I can trade these
And I know those better things will come
Instead of living life in fear
I took that huffy years ago
To trade in for a mountain bike
Now when I get the urge to go
I like to think I live and learn
I'm learning love can be a ride up hill
Because I still feel the scars
And I guess I always will
