Verse 1
(D major) Sherry was a waitress
At the only joint in town
She (G major) had a reputation
As a girl who'd been around
Down (D major) Main Street after midnight
With a brand new pack of cigs
A (G major) fresh one hanging from her lips
A beer between her legs
She'd (A major) ride down to the river
And meet with all her friends
The (G major) road goes on forever
And the party never ends (D major) (G major)

(D major) Sonny was a loner
Bolder than the rest
He was (G major) going in the Navy
But he couldn't pass the test
So he (D major) hung around town
And he sold a little pot
The law (G major) got wind of Sonny
And one day he got caught
But (A major) he was back in business
When they set him free again

And the party never ends (D major) (G major)
Verse 3
(D major) Sonny's playing eight ball
At the joint where Sherry works
Some (G major) drunken out-of-towner
Put his hand up Sherry's skirt

Stuffed a dollar (G major) in her tip jar
