because it says a lot of how I
feel about being a writer
and as cliched as this is
I've wanted to do what I'm doing tonight
since I was two and a half years old
so it's it's really amazing
that I still get to do it and be up here
who aren't even my relatives or anything.
You know, you pray to write songs
like 17 or Stars or Jessie
that touch people's hearts.
kind of a change in people's lives
and also earn a living while you're doing it.
and I've been really lucky.
I think it's just the best job in the
when we're doing our job,
we get to take people's dreams
and make something visible out
And then when people forget
really dark and horrible,
we get to remind you that they exist,
and that's a serious privilege for us,
you know? I feel like I stand on a lot of people's bones
every time I get up on stage,
and continue to do it for me,
and I don't know, it is a terrible cliche,
but it really is a real privilege
to be able to do it night after night,
