Verse 1
(A minor) Yeah, (E minor) check it out (F major)
I want everybody to sit back (C major)
(G major) And close your eye (A minor) s
(E minor) And picture things that you've
never seen (F major)
Come to reality
Right (G major) before your eye (A minor) s
So sit back (E minor)
Turn it up (F major)
And close your eyes
Coming (G major) up against (A minor) all odds,
it was the story of my life
Doing what (E minor) I gotta do,
whether wrong or right
Late nights,
(F major) I used to go in the kitchen
Nothing in I bitching,
but telling stories, pure (G major) facts
Homie, listen, I used to (A minor) see my
moms on the knees praying
Asking for (E minor) someone,
somehow to make a way in
I've seen (F major) that,
but didn't understand
Witnessing my mom doing things
that (G major) a man should really do
(A minor) But now my father didn't keep it true
So at (G major) that point, my mama told me
It's just me and you,
(F major) kiss me on my cheek
Went (A minor) to work when (F major) I went to the streets
Couple of months later,
shackle head to feet
Now close (A minor) your eyes
I want you to close your eyes
and just picture what (E minor) I see
Wasn't nothing funny
running in Missouri
Close (F major) eyes
And witness a G that's on the rise
Doing what I gotta do to (G major) survive
Close your (A minor) eyes
Trying to make sense of this life
Doing (E minor) what I gotta do, wrong or right
Close your (F major) eyes
And picture me doing the things
you never thought I would do
Open your (G major) eyes and
see it's coming
Now it's (A minor) 2012, yeah times change
Different story, (E minor) different struggle,
different things is bringing pain
I wanna (F major) say, like Hector said
Some very sad things that happened
But, I'm (G major) charging to the game,
my homie (A minor) Droopy got out
Told me damn it's hard to change,
but (E minor) he's doing it for his son
Now his target is an animal, homie
(F major) Creepy just is having some change
Here we just got out,
and they (G major) told me both the same
I was (F major) talking to the older homie,
(A minor) traveling on the road
Come (G major) to realize,
certain things as you grow
Said (F major) it's not cool to be stupid now, whoa
And that's the type of shit,
that starts to fuck with my soul
Start to (A minor) think about the homies
in the crossroads
Shed (E minor) a tear for the homies
that done lost souls
Thinkin' to my (F major) self, would they sense this
or down for the scent
Either way, if they were here,
they would (G major) change the fate, bet
So (A minor) I drink until the sunset
Smoke (E minor) a cushion in my mind,
I'm thinking, what's next?
The thought's (F major) cold, but really,
it's part of reality
Ask the Lord to please look (G major) after me
when I close (A minor) my eyes
I want you to close your eyes
and just vision what (E minor) I see
Wasn't nothing funny running
in the streets
Close your (F major) eyes
And witness a G that's on the rise
Doing what I gotta do to sur (G major) vive
Close your eye (A minor) s
Trying to make sense of this life
Doing what (E minor) I gotta do wrong or right
Close your eye (F major) s
And picture me doing the things
you never thought I would do
Open (G major) your eyes and see it's come true (A minor)
(E minor)
(F major) (G major)
(A minor) (E minor)
(F major) (G major)
(A minor) (E minor)
(F major)
(G major) I make it for a change, (A minor)
and ain't nobody (E minor) bringin' it to him (F major)
2012
Mr. Criminal, (G major) for the future (A minor)
An (G major) d it's from the heart,
I (F major) just wanna let everybody know real quick
I made (A minor) this song close to rhyme,
so you can let every (E minor) body know
It could be any motherfuck (F major) in' line,
that's the way it goes
I come (G major) against all odds (A minor)
My mom came to this country
didn't even (E minor) know English
Like I'm pretty sure
most of (F major) your parents didn't
But we come against all odds
and we sur (G major) vive (A minor)
Close your (E minor) eye s
We going through a struggle right (F major) now,
close your eyes
You know there's gonna
be a (G major) better day (A minor)
Close your (E minor) eyes
You're in a cell right now (F major)
You know that one day
you're gonna get out
Fea (G major) tures on the horizon (A minor)
Close (G major) your eyes (F major)
You're a pregnant female
and ain't got a baby's dad
to sit there and take care of you
Now close (A minor) your eyes
I want you to close your eyes
and just visual what (E minor) I see
Wasn't nothing funny running
in the streets
Close your (F major) eyes
And witness a G that's on the rise
doing what I gotta do to sur (G major) vive
Close your (A minor) eyes
Trying to make sense of this life
doing (E minor) what I gotta do wrong or right
Close your (F major) eyes
And feature me doing the things
you never thought I would do
Open your (G major) eyes and see it's come true
(A minor) I want you to close your eyes
and just picture what (E minor) I see
Wasn't nothing funny
running in the streets
An (F major) d when it's a G that's on the rise
Doing what I gotta do to sur (G major) vive
Close your eye (A minor) s
Trying to make sense of this life
Doing what (E minor) I gotta do wrong or right
(F major) And picture me doing the things
you never thought I would do
Open your (G major) eyes and see it's come true
