getting stabbed and jumped
I didn't want to retaliate,
Most of the time a journey
My boys in the hood that were ministers
They said, Ming don't hang no more,
He trying to do his schoolwork now,
no more F's and strictly D's
even if it was the 12th grade
not looking at what the drug well paid
the foundation of the world
Through the high school and
I got to give all praise to God
The risen lamb that had his hands
nailed to the tree after the prison stand
He's still living and glory to his name
he gave a new story to this land
To him until it goes down
And when the moon and the stars
I thank him before I lay down
I wanna thank you for the journey
to push the pen to the paper
Worcester State College was the place
that I laced all my first rhymes
Lost from the pain of Boston it hurts
I am just trying to clear the canvas
to paint the clear picture
Christ had his hands on me
and didn't hear scriptures
didn't think I'd even make it 22,
got my bachelors degree and graduated
Since 1999, I've been releasing CDs
Full of profanity, God couldn't be pleased
But he never left me like my
even though my style was corn
when I should've been praising him
But he don't hold grudges,
love and forgiveness stays in him
So now I hold on with the right grip
Like fixing a bike with vice grips
I hold tight because I might slip
And now I rise with a song,
Homeless but had a good job
Then she died on Sunday morning
leaving people with tears
How I was nice with the mic
but writing the wrong text
I'm back, I've been a sucker
calling women hoes and bras
but when the ride was over
The pages from my daily journal
That's when the decision was made
I started thinking about ways
to stop being a financial slave
I wanted to write rhymes without cursing
to a whole different person
Thanks for the experience,
not leaving me in the wilderness
He's coming back for his children,
that's why I'm building this
thanking and praising him
And when the moon and the stars
I thank him before I lay down
I wanna thank him for putting
journey in my life around
I wanna thank you, yeah, for the journey
