Well, the words I was thinking of
saying just stuck in my throat
And the ink I was thinking of writing
with dried up when I wrote
And I don't think that words
would de scribe what I feel
I doubt if just talking could
It's a whole different feel
ing and I can't explain it
No better than anyone ever could
Eyes don't say what they used to,
the warmth leaves the smile
And the thrill of a touch,
Seems to fade like the fall into wintertime
And you know how in winter
The trees stand stark naked,
Of the cold sleep that soaks
Your heart's frozen over and
And to tell you the truth there's
And when I think back how
I thought if I saw just a glimpse of the spring
I would stay just to see what
I think I'll just fly with the bluebirds this time
Back up and head for a sunnier clime
I'll let some sunshine into this life of mine
Get out of here while my life is still mine
And forget there was ever a wintertime
