It's one of the early Grinch songs I wrote,
I was just 17 and got lucky and tapped into
some fairly mature stuff for that age.
you know, it's so amazing.
Things so precious and dear,
they keep coming and going.
The good news is, when they go,
come back in different forms.
And all you really have is the now,
and we're grateful tonight
to have you here on this winter's night,
and I've to say for 42 years
you've all made this a second home for all of us,
my wife Amy and I thank you,
and we're very grateful to be here.
You were rain and I washed away
I meet the kind of friends
And I laugh when I start to say.
Oh, that I love you like rain,
You're I've fallen, just to pass my way
I wander like the clouds,
This lonely heart, sure ain't nothing new
I was told by a wise man in my soul
She's gonna always stop loving you
Oh, I love her in the morning
She leaves me in the evening
I'm just cryin' in the mornin' light
It's a one so damn right and it rains, yeah
I see the clouds a -rollin'
I'm afraid it's gonna start to rain
But I always wake up the same God,
I love you like rain, darling
You're always fallin' just to pass my way
I meet the kind of friends
I'll meet the kind of friends
I meet the kind of friend
Thank you, been a beautiful audience,
