The voice of Joe Williams
and the music of Count Basie.
And it's all for the National
Guard.
And looking at it another way,
the National Guard is all for
you.
Because the Guard adds up to a good
deal
when it comes to getting ahead.
The effectiveness of any military force
depends on leadership,
and it's the leadership of World War II
and Korean veterans
that have given the needed leadership
to the National Guard
and have helped it develop into
a truly ready -now team.
Now there are openings for new junior officers,
and qualified young men
who are enrolled in the Guard
can win commissions
as second lieutenants.
In most cases,
guardsmen may attend state officer candidate schools.
In addition, selected Guardsmen
may attend active Army
OCS classes.
The Guard provides another channel to
leadership
by means of competitive appointments
to both West Point and the Air
Force Academy.
Men who have what it takes
can take command in your National Guard.
