Verse 1
I've (G major) got a book that used to sit
around the house collecting dust (C major)
Really (A minor) did (D major) n't interest me,
I didn't read it much (G major)
But (C major) one day (G major) I had chance
to read the part
about salvation's (C major) offer
I (D major) took the offer up
and got acquainted with the au (G major) thor
I met the man (C major) who wrote the book
and so I (G major) read it naturally
While reading (C major) it,
I learned that it was writ (A major) ten just for (D major) me
Now that the writer (G major) is my dearest friend,
his book I highly treas (C major) ure
The (D major) Bible is the greatest book
since I met the au (G major) thor (D major)
(G major) (C major) (D major) (G major) (C major) (D major)
(G major)
The Bible is a book
that many have but seldom read
(C major) An introduc (D major) tion to the author
is exactly what they need
(G major) Without Jesus and his word,
a wealthy man is just a (C major) pauper
God's (D major) word will come to light
only when you've met the au (G major) thor
I met the man (C major) who wrote the book
and so I (G major) read it naturally
While reading (C major) it,
I learned that it was writ (A major) ten just for (D major) me
Now that the writer (G major) is my dearest friend,
this book I highly treas (C major) ure
And the (D major) Bible is the greatest book
since I met the au (G major) thor
I (D major) (G major) met the man (C major) who wrote the book
and so (G major) I read it naturally
While reading (C major) it
I learned that it was writ (A major) ten just for (D major) me
Now that the writer (G major) and my dearest friend
His book I highly treas (C major) ure
And the (D major) Bible is the greatest book
since I met the au (G major) thor
I met the man (C major) who wrote the book
and so I (G major) read it naturally
While (C major) reading it,
I learned that it was writ (A major) ten just for (D major) me
