He was fighting against the nation of Israel
and he had one aim in mind.
He wanted to wipe them
off the face of the earth.
He carefully planned
how he would destroy them,
but every time he went and secretly set up camp
with his army and got ready to attack,
God told the prophet Elisha
where they were.
Elisha then could
let the King of Israel know
so he could escape
the enemy army.
The King of Aram was furious.
What is going on here?
There must be a spy in our camp
who is telling the enemy our
every move.
Which one of you imbeciles
is on the side of the King of Israel?
Not me. Not me.
It's not me.
None of us, my lord.
Well, it has to be someone.
And believe you me,
I mean to find out who is betraying me.
One of the officers
nervously leant forward.
I think I might know
something, my lord.
Well, stop looking
as if you've swallowed a lemon
and spit it out, man.
Sir, it's Elisha,
that prophet who is in Israel.
He tells the king of Israel
the very words you speak
in your bedroom, sir.
The words I speak
in my bedroom?
How on earth can he know them?
Well, if you ask me,
that's not many words
and a whole lot of snoring.
Pardon? Oh, nothing, sir.
Well, speak up, man.

God tells him, sir.

He knows everything
and tells it all to Elisha.
Shut up, you pathetic little noodle,
or I'll cut off your ears
and feed them to you piece by piece.

Now, go and find out where he is
so that I can send some men to
capture him.

Shut up! Sir?
I'll put a stop to this nonsense
once and for all!

So the soldiers went out to find where Elisha was,
and the report quickly came back.
He was in a city called Dothan.
Aha! (C major) He's (B major) mine!
Make haste, men!
Go and capture him!
Bring this so -called Prophet of God
to me!
The king sent a strong force of soldiers,
chariots and horses to Dothan. They went by night
and surrounded the city
under the cover of darkness.
Elisha was in the city with his servant.
Both of them were snoring.
Elisha's servant woke up early
and went outside.
He stretched and yawned (G major) loudly, then
(B major) through his bleary eyes
he suddenly spotted something.
What's that then?
He rubbed his eyes again
to make sure he
wasn't seeing things.
He took them out,
gave them a good clean
and looked again.
Oh my goodness!
He saw the massive enemy army
camped outside the city
and said something that
perfectly and eloquently
summed up how he felt.
AAAHHHHHHH
Then he rushed back inside
the house.
AHHHHH! ELIJAH! ELIJAH! WAKE UP!
What? Where? Who?
What's all the fuss about?
Come and see!
Come and see!
You haven't spotted
our next -door neighbour
sunbathing in her bikini again, have you? No. Why?
Is she there again?
How should I know?
Well, you're the Prophet.
What do you want from me?
I want you to take a look outside!
We're completely surrounded.
Elisha looked out
and sure enough the city
was totally surrounded. See?
By a huge and fearsome looking army of soldiers,
chariots and horses.
Told you, we're going to die.
I told you. Elisha, we're going to die
I said. Oh my lord,
what are we going to do?
Don't be afraid.
Don't be afraid?
Yes.
We're surrounded by the army
of the dreaded King of Aram.
Right.
And you tell me not to be afraid?
Yes. Oh, alright then.
I'll give it a go.
Nope. It's not working. I'm terrified.
I'm so afraid I think I'm going to pee in
my pyjamas any second.
Don't be afraid.
Oh, quick, I need to find a bucket.
Pull yourself together.
Listen, those who are with
us
are more than those
against us.
Is that supposed to help me?
Well, I thought it was
quite a comfort, yes.
And it also happens to be true.
But look, there's a huge army
surrounding the whole city
and just little old us and you.
Huh, I'm little and you're old.
Watch it.
There's loads more of them
than there is us.
Then Elisha prayed.
Oh Lord, open his eyes that he
might see.
And then God
did something incredible.
Something so amazing
that it completely
stopped Elisha's servant
from thinking about girls in bikinis.
At that moment, he saw
something he had not seen before.
Yes, they were still surrounded
by the king of Aram's army,
but there was something else.
There was something surrounding that
army.
Flames were rising high in the sky
all around the king's men.
He squinted to try and see what it was
and then through
the smoke and flames
he finally made it out.
There was another army.
And it was huge, much bigger
and stronger and fearsome
than the king of Aram's (C major) army.
In fact, it made (B major) his army
look like a bunch of wimpy ants.
It (C major) was an awesome (B major) sight.
But Elisha's servant
simply could not believe his eyes,
as he looked and saw that the hills were full of angels,
horses,
and chariots of fire.
(G major) He (B major) gasped.
Go and save my sheep
and call me Gwynedd.
It's the army of God.
We're not on our own.
And we never were.
Whether you can see him or not,
God is always with us.
(G major) And he's far stronger than any
(B major) earthly army.
You see, those who are with us
are more than those against us.
Brilliant! Yes! We're saved!
That's right! No death! No!
No dying! Not today!
No death for you and me!
That's right!
No death! Yes! No dying! Uh -huh!

No death for you and me!
Whatever problems or difficulties you face
in your life at school or at home or at work,
never forget that God is with you.
This is what he promises
in the Bible
in Deuteronomy, chapter 31, (G major) verse (B major) 8.
The Lord himself goes before you
and will be with you.
He will never leave you or forsake you.
Do not be afraid.
Do not be discour (G major) aged.
for you and me.
(B major) No death. No dying.
No death for you and been
three weeks.
No death. No Open a sock in it!
Oh, look at the pretty (B major) birdies.
Sometimes life
can be really tough.
We can feel on our
own and outnumbered
(B major) but always remember the
words (B major) of Elisha
Those who are with us
are more than those against us
We can't see them
But God sends his mighty
angels
and his heavenly (B major) army
to help us as we battle again
st the dark forces of evil in this world
His army of fire is with us
and they are far
stronger than anything
The enemy can throw us
how amazing is that you are not alone

and you never will be.
God and all the mighty army of heaven
