Verse 1
(F major) (C major) (G major) (C major) I
went into a home one
day just to see some friends of mine
Of all their books and magazines,
not a (D major) Bible could I (G major) find.
I (C major) asked them for the Bible. When they brought it,
what a shame!
For the dust was covered o'er
it, not a (G major) fingerprint was (C major) plain.
Verse 2
Dust on the (C major) Bible, dust on the (G major) Holy (C major) Word
The words of all the prophets,
and the (D major) sayings of our (G major) Lord.
Of (C major) all the other books you'll
find, there's none salvation holds
Get the dust off the Bible and
re (G major) deem your poor (C major) soul.
Oh, you can read your magazines
of love and tragic things
But not one word of Bible verse, not a
(D major) scripture do you know.
When it is the very (G major) truth, and it's
contents good for you.
But (C major) it's dust is covered o'er it
And it's sure to doom your
poor soul.
