I'd like to learn to live primitively
And see how this land used to be
Before the freeways and factories
The way this world was meant to be
Where I can't be seen by the satellite
Under the trees and out of sight
I'd like to get lost
and fall asleep every night
Looking up at the starry sky
Someday I'd like to go
To the middle of Idaho
On the map I can see it's mostly green
I'd head northwest from Salmon
Make my way to White Bird
And see just what it's like in between
If I ventured to guess,
there'd be so much to learn
In the wilderness,
along the river of no return
I'd like to get back to nature,
discover my roots
Read some Thoreau,
break in my hiking boots
I'd live off the land, have nothing to lose
Just try to understand, and pay my dues
Clean air to breathe and
clean water to drink
Away from the noise
where I could hear myself think
Who knows,
maybe I'd never come back
I'd live the rest of my life
off the beaten path
Someday I'd like to go
To the middle of Idaho
On the map I can see it's mostly green
I'd head northwest from Salmon
Make my way to White Bird
And see just what it's like in between
If I ventured a guess
there'd be so much to learn
in the wilderness
along the river of no return.
Someday I'd like to go
to the middle of Idaho.
On the map I can see it's mostly green
I'd head northwest from Salmon
Make my way to White Bird
And see just what it's like in between
If I ventured a guess,
there'd be so much to learn
In the wilderness,
along the river of no return
